Hattie O’Neill receives an employment contract with the Toxteth Fire Fit Hub!

Hattie O’Neill who is 22 years of age was referred to FIT UK by Shaun Glanville who is the Chief Officer for The Choices, Education, Lifelong Learning, Skills initiative (CELLS). Shaun informed FIT UK of Hattie’s enthusiasm and commitment to keeping physically fit and healthy, but she also had a keen interest in working within the fitness industry. After a successful interview Hattie started the 16 week health and fitness Trainesship programme where she would work through a framework of qualifications such as Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Employability and Job search Skills. L1 Functional Skills in maths and English. As part of the Traineeship programme Hattie was required to carry out voluntary work experience within the health and fitness sector. Here she worked across two facilities, The Fitness Academy and the Toxteth Fire Fit Hub. Over the course of 16 week programme Hattie was focused and really worked hard on the academic side of the programme but most of all the work experience where she stood out from the rest. Hattie became a valued member of the Hub, our young people came and asked was Hattie in the gym. Many members asked Hattie to come and join in some of the other sporting activities that are available to them on a daily basis. Hattie has a great personality, engages well with all our members who have a diverse approach and thinking towards fitness.ire Fit commented on Hattie’s success. "Hattie O’Neill was with Fituk doing her Level 2 Gym Instructors Qualification as part of the Traineeship programme. Hattie was asked by Alan Reddin from Fituk to volunteer at our gymnasium at the Fire Fit Hub to gain experience in the fitness industry. From the start Hattie showed great potential and had a great rapport with our members who attend our Centre. Hattie is a very motivated young lady who inspires others to reach their full potential. She took her roles and responsibilities very serious, she was able to follow Protocols and Procedures as well as work within the Fire Fit values. She done inductions with our members and done sessions in the gym that encouraged our members to want to have a good level of Fitness and a more Healthier Life Style.

 Due to her commitment and popularity were very proud to offer Hattie a permanent contract within the Youth Team. Hattie will facilitate all sorts of sports within the gym and in the sports hall, as the Duty Manager Youth lead at the Hub I am very proud to have Hattie join my team as I have no doubt that she will inspire others to follow in her footsteps”.

Hattie is already looking ahead to the next L3 Personal Training qualifications which will be delivered by FIT UK. Hattie said "I can’t thank FIT UK enough for putting their faith in me and giving me this fantastic opportunity to progress. I am looking forward to working with the Fire Fit team and I am already booked onto the level 3 Personal Training qualification with FIT UK”.
